I am sort of famous
I am sort of famous. At least… that is what I like to think after sifting through all my backlinks in Google Search Console.
Sure, I was a speaker at JekyllConf 2019, HugoConf 2022 and HugoConf 2023 and I am the organizer of the Jamstack Amsterdam Meetup group. And yes, I am also the author of Jekyll Codex, Hugo Codex and Hugobricks and I run my own CMS with almost 100 client websites. But… I have also gained some internet fame by writing articles. Something I value just as much. Here is a list of people who referenced me:
- Iris Lightshard wrote: “Nirvash is a content management system (CMS) written in Go. […] It’s inspired by Joost van der Schee’s Usecue CMS.” You are welcome Iris. I am honored by this.
- Kev Quirk put me in his list of Friends from blogging. I do read all of his updates through RSS and comment on some of them by email. I know about his lawn, his mowers, his fish, his big house, his dogs, his watches, his bikes… Heck, I know more about him than his wife (not true). Thank you Kev. Keep posting!
- Philip Newborough shared my blog and put it under ‘blogs’ ‘inspiration’ and ‘minimalism’. Awesome!
- Math Notermans referenced my article Hover is dead, saying: “In storyline that means… either use the same state for hover and selected… or do not use hover.” That’s right Math!
- Harry Cresswell referenced my article A lost generation. Thank your for the mention, Harry!
- Zinzy Waleson Geene added me to her Blogroll and Bookmarks. Adams Desk did so as well. I am honored by this.
- Yuji Hasegawa used some of my website articles to promote his ‘fast and rich’ websites (in Japanese). Great Yuji. Keep up the good work!
- Jemima Abu wrote that she liked my website, because of the perfect Lighthouse Score and the call to action buttons for next and previous items. Thanks Jemina!
- Antoine Fauchié referenced an article where I wrote about the use of shortcodes in CMS systems. Not my best article, but I am glad it helped Antoine.
- Pouria Razmjoui writes (in Persian) that you should at least have one project with a perfect Lighthouse Score in your portfolio when you are a web developer… and he links to one of my articles about that. Great! And I could not agree more!
- Djordje Atlialp wrote about the Usecue website: “When I saw how insanely fast this page loaded I was instantly sold.” He just had to try Hugo as well. I love that, Djordje. Super!
- Yuma Chiaki writes (in Japanese) about ‘The fastest website in the world’ and put my website on number one. I wrote a post about that.
I skipped all links to Google Fonts being illegal in the EU, because this was just a repost. I also skipped all links to my privacy-friendly way of loading Instagram images, that had over 200 users and many Gigabytes of traffic per month, because it has been disabled for a while now.
Thank you all for reading my blog, referencing my articles and making me feel special. You really do, and it is very important to me. Isn’t that what we are all looking for on this planet (feeling special)?
